System Hardening
This is a relatively subjective term and depends to an extent on the applications your server is running, but in general we will attempt to;
- Make sure unnecessary services are not exposed
- Make sure appropriate firewall rules are in place
- Make sure exposed services are sufficiently secure, for example turning off SSH authentication, ensuring SSH keys are of a secure size
- Make sure ill-advised services and plugins are not running on the sever
- Advise and configure if necessary, front-end proxy and DDOS mitigation services
