Description
As a MESH based VPN, TINC is very resilient and any two nodes can function as VPN in the event other nodes fail. (there is no central point of failure) For nodes that reside on the wrong side of a Firewall or behind a broadband router, we utilise free web based Zero Trust networking to ensure connectivity, even when there are no public nodes within your network.
TINC is also available for Windows and MacOS, so typically most machines can be connected to your VPN to provide a fully integrated work environment. Connections are usually automatically started when machines start up providing a completely transparent experience to the user. Unlike some other point-to-point options, TINC has a short recovery interval in the event connectivity is lost. Whereas with some VPN’s, an interruption in connectivity for SSH sessions running over a VPN often results in the SSH session being terminated, even if the disconnect is for a few seconds, TINC connections tend to be able to recover from such outages and maintain a live session.
